A Guide to the Art of Smelling Good Sunday, January 16, 2011

Smelling good is as important as looking good to make a lasting impression. Imagine yourself in a situation where a person (handsome looking guy or a beautiful girl) you have eyeing for some time comes and stand close to you. You are excited; however, in another moment you can no longer bear to stand near him/her. Why? Due to their extremely bad smelling body odour! At such moments you will wish hard for a good perfume to gift it to that cute boy or girl!.It doesn't matter how cute or good looking you are, when it comes to the unbearable stench of smell, the person standing next to you will either be extremely uncomfortable in your presence or will taunt you about it. In both case, it will be very embarrassing for you. Smelling good is like an attractive tool that can make you irresistible and pleasant to be with.

How to Smell Good?

There are very less people born with less body smell or a sweet smelling odour. Most of us are still blessed with less body odour that a little wisp of a good perfume can take care of. However, there are some unlucky souls who have to suffer some very mortifying consequences of extremely bad body odour. However, there are few simple ways, which if followed regularly can help you reduce or control bad body odour, enough to save you from embarrassment.

Take a Bath Regularly: Firstly, one needs to correctly understand that when treating bad body odour, our aim is just not to smell good or not to smell bad, but to curb the very root of body smell to smell fresh for longer periods. Therefore, to keep you fresh bath daily, if possible twice a day. Bath with warm water and add a dash of sweet smelling essential oils or a dash of lemon juice to your bathing water. This will provide your body a lingering sweet fragrance. After your bath deodorise yourself immediately after a towel dry. Use a roller deodorant as they give better results. Concentrate more on areas which sweat more, like arm pits. Wear light clothes like cotton or linen to keep your skin dry and breathable.

Invest in good Perfumes: Use a good and strong perfume. Since, you have a strong body odour; you need to know which scent will suit you the best:

  • Eau De Cologne/Toilettes: These contain only 3% to 8% fragrance oils and are thus not very strong or long lasting. People with strong body odour should not opt for these, as their body smellr will get stronger with these colognes.

  • Eau De Parfum: These are stronger than colognes and long lasting too. These contain 8% to 15% fragrance oil, thus giving a stronger fragrance.

  • Perfume: these contain 20% to 30% fragrance oils and are the longest lasting of them all. They are expensive but are the best option for people with strong body odour.

Use them after you bath and preferably on the skin, to avoid perfume spots on your clothes and for a long lasting effect.
